Training and education are important pillars in what Savoir Vivre believes to be essential for personal and professional growth. Some of our candidates have advanced their careers because they have enrolled in a variety of courses and become certified through some of the courses available.
As an example for the systems of advancements we have created at Savoir Vivre, we give candidates the opportunity to earn their certificate. Our clients will receive the free book “Beyond Parenting Basics” from the International Nanny Association as part of all of our packages. The book will be given to the nanny to study and develop an understanding of the prerequisites in the book, and as a result will have an opportunity to apply for certification.
The Basic Skills test by INA confirms your knowledge of child care, including topics like health, safety, nutrition, professionalism and child development. Upon successfully passing the exam, you will receive certification. If you want to take it a step further, sign up for the more intensive INA Nanny Credential Exam. Pass that, and you’ll be considered an INA Credentialed Nanny.
While there is no formal training required for nannies to actually become nannies, these specialized classes will turn you into a more professional and knowledgeable caregiver. Below is the list of courses and certifications we recommend you seriously consider:
- Etiquette and Modern Mannerism
- CPR and First Aid
- Water-safety Certification
- Infant Care
- Professional Nanny Certification
- Nutrition and Cooking (International Cuisines)
